Happy New Year From Midnight Seductions!

I'm going to have a pleasant, quiet New Year. Although my book isn't coming out as expected, I have plenty of articles and stories coming out in 2008. Expect more hot, sexy stories in Scarlet Magazine. I am already nearly a month ahead on my weekly articles for Nuts4chic. I have two short stories at a publisher, and I should hear something around February. I speak at Arisia, New England's largest and most diverse science fiction and fantasy convention, about writing and ghosts in mid-January.

Promotions are part of my life now. As a writer with Midnight Seductions, you'll see me at lots of loop chats this year. Loop chats are all day chats in Yahoo groups. I like them very much. I tend to not do live chats because they are too late at night for me. I also get better results from loop chats. I will be in two chats on January 2, so keep an eye out for me. Tonight, The Count and I will watch movies, enjoy some champagne at midnight, and drink hot buttered rum the rest of the time. We're staying home tonight, since we are homebodies.

So the folks at Hello Kitty want to create a line for guys? Who came up with that bright idea? Hello Kitty is a girl thang. I wonder if, since the Hello Kitty vibrator is back on the market, if there will be a Hello Kitty butt plug made especially for the guys?

Honey As Healer

According to FoxNews, "More than 4,000 years after Egyptians began applying honey to wounds, Derma Sciences Inc., a New Jersey company that makes medicated and other advanced wound care products, began selling the first honey-based dressing this fall after it was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration."

I'd like to see this to see if it is for real. I use Bag Balm on cuts and chapped lips, and it works just fine. If it's good enough for cows and horses, its good enough for me.

Honey is great to cook with. It helps digestion, and tastes great. We had ham for Christmas dinner, and I made a nice marinade for the ham that I also used for basting. Here are the ingredients.

One cup orange juice
One cup packed brown sugar
One cup honey
Several crushed garlic cloves
Splash of hickory smoke flavoring

The ham was dee-lish!! We're having ham leftovers tonight.

I Had A Fun Christmas

Christmas was unusual, but fun. We didn't get a tree this year because, without a car, how would we get it to the house? Carry it? Not likely at night, in the dark, on the road.

While gifts were scarce, seasonal joy was in good swing. I finally cashed in my gift certificate for sex toys that I got when I wrote a review for a sex toys site. I am thrilled! My toys arrived two days ago. I now have two really cool G-spot toys (one is hands-free) and the cutest nipple rings. They have hearts dangling from them. The only problem is that they keep slipping off. Still, there's no way in Hell I'm EVER getting my nipples pierced. No needle is going anywhere near them.

I'm set to go to Arisia in about two weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing Cecilia Tan, the owner of Circlet Press. We were on a panel together last year. She published two of my articles and paid me in very good books. I want to try my hand at erotic science fiction. I already write paranormal erotic romance and paranormal erotica. Those stories are fun to write.

I'm taking time off until January 2, and then I begin writing again full tilt. I'm working on a story now that I need to finish before mid-January. In the meantime, I will continue promoting myself and Midnight Seductions. There is a chat coming up on January 2. I will post information about it if you'd like to attend.

Newsflash TIME Mag: Male Babies Don't Make Sperm

In an article about major gaffs in reporting in 2007, TIME Magazine came up with a whopper when it said that inhaling phthalates from air fresheners could decrease sperm levels in infants.

There's one big problem: boys don't produce sperm until puberty.

The article did point out that "[r]educed sperm levels have been found in (where else?) Chinese vinyl workers, who happen to be exposed to massive levels of phthalates – but, crucially, there is no evidence, as yet, that they have suffered fertility problems as a consequence."
