Meet The New Lara Croft

There's a new Lara Croft, and her name is Karima Adebibe. I thought that Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness was the last one, but apparently Tomb Raider: Legend, which is due to be released in April, is the next in line. Adebibe will play Lara in promotions for the game. I hope the controls work better than they did in the previous Tomb Raider game. I couldn't finish the game because the controls were so squiggy.

I don't think that Adebibe will play Lara in the game. She's going to portray Lara in promotions of the game. I'm most familiar with Rhona Mitra, who has also portrayed Lara in promotions. She recently had a large role in Nip/Tuck. I have one of her music CDs, called Lara Croft: Female Icon. It's not bad.

I stopped playing at 3, where the gigantic, utterly incomprehensible first level made me give up for good.

I think I know which game you're talking about, but I can't remember the specific name. That first level was a killer. I finished all the Tomb Raider games. I just love Tomb Raider. You should see my Lara Croft collection. I have all the dioramas, most of the movie action figures, mouse pads, a pewter figurine of Lara that I use when we play board games, and even two Lara Croft beach towels. I just love Lara Croft.

It's simply Tomb Raider 3. At the time the games were known only by numbers. I read in a review of TR 4 that 3 was an unusually difficult game with very large levels, which would square with the fact that I didn't have the same problems when I played the first two games.

I actually have the first Tomb Raider movie on my computer, but it's only because I don't like to delete movies or songs, even if they're really bad (which I think both movies are).

"I thought that Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness was the last one, but apparently Tomb Raider: Legend, which is due to be released in April, is the next in line."

In a sense you are correct. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness was the final game made by Core Design; now Core Design have lost the title and Crystal Dynamics are making Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: Legend, which will be a seperate storyline to the Core Design line of games, not a continuation.

So, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness was "the last one" because it was the final installment of that version of Lara's world. This new game is the first installment of a new version.
