It's War: The Countess vs. Pinwheel Cookies

So far, it's Pinwheel Cookies - 4, The Countess - 0.

Being a royal doesn't mean that I can do everything well. However, I am not modest. I can do quite a few things well. Even very well. Pinwheel cookies?

Not a chance. This is war.

I have been in a constant battle with pinwheel cookie dough for about two weeks now. The dough is winning. It laughs wildly at me, in my royal frustration, while I try in vain to roll it out. The cookies end up looking like fractal cookies. I made them again yesterday, and they looked like Gordian knots. Albeit, very tasty Gordian knots. But still, knots. They're not supposed to look like knots. They're supposed to look like pinwheels.

I am going to keep baking these !@#$% cookies until I get them right. Never give up! Never surrender!

Is it possible to have a cooking block against baking a certain thing? I have more pinwheel cookie dough chilling in the refrigerator. I have spoken with the Count about the upcoming battle. Who will win? The Countess or the cookies that are determined to become uncouth but tasty lumps?

I imagine myself glaring at that cookie dough while it sits there, sneering at me. I will roll it out much thicker this time, and I will cut the edges into a rectangle. I must wait until I am mentally ready for this battle. Otherwise, the cookie dough will win again. Those twisted cookies will sit in their ceramic bowl and chat with the charcoal incense blocks that I sometimes have a difficult time lighting. Both of them will laugh at me.

I'm getting confident that I will win this battle of wills. Eventually, the cookie dough will submit to my rule. After all, I am a Countess. My subjects obey me, especially if I threaten them with a rolling pin. Smiley1

With all this aggravation, you are going to have to open a business...

Don't you realise us feminists are hairy legged creatures what have lost the feminine arts like baking?

LOL Helen. I have a feeling there are more feminists who know how to bake than a lot of people know.
