Irony Alert

There is a petition on the Internet calling for an abolition of the Internet from American homes.

My brain just exploded.

That sounded like a hoax to me, so I did some Googling. The story appears to have originated here, written as an apparent news release. However, there is no online record of that story appearing in any actual news publication, just on a bunch of blogs that picked it up from the originating website. It then turns out that the name of the comic strip artist on the front page of that site (ultraviol) is the same name as listed in the e-mail address of "Gladis Haralski" (ultraviol@hotmail.com). I'm now convinced it's a hoax.

Oh and the tagline of the website it first appears on is "truth is but fiction."

I didn't read the comments, but I'm sure they're a hoot. Yes, it sounds like a hoax to me too, but it was so funny I had to post it.
