Another Story Finished

I just finished another story and sent it out for acceptance. This one was even more fun to write than the one I wrote yesterday. I'm on a roll with these stories. I could easily make a few hundred bucks with what I wrote. I'll let everyone know when they're accepted.

Congratulions...

This could turn into a substantial second income it looks like...

I actually did a similar thing for a while...I wrote the jacket covers for books...In my case it just winded up not being worth it, once they cut the rate back...since you had to actually read the book practically to write the few paragraphs that go into the jacket cover...and they didn't accept all of them, so what they accepted was all they paid for...

So it was running me about 4 to 5 hours to complete one blurb and then sometimes they didn't pick it anyway, so I wouldn't get paid...then they cut the rate back on top of it...from $100 per book jacket to $25.00...so I just quit doing it...

This story thing for mags though is very good...a couple of hundreds dollars for one is well worth it...how long does it take to complete one by the way, just curious....

The pay is definitely worthwhile for the effort that I put into it. Once I get the idea thought out in my head, it takes me about an hour to write the story. I'm keeping the word limit between 1,000 and 2,000 words, but I'm aware of other paying publications that accept works up to 8,000 words. I'm out of ideas for now, but I'm reading short stories to come up with other ones. The big advantage is that I like doing this a lot. It doesn't feel like work.
