One of the first articles I ever wrote for nuts4chic was about a courtesan named Emma.

I had wondered since writing that article how many male escorts there were out there. I knew that male escorts were not nearly as common as women working in the field.

Just by luck, I managed to find one! He was eager to talk to me.

I'll call him Justin to protect his privacy. He started as a part-time male escort in 1974 in New York City. He was married at the time, and somehow managed to keep his moonlighting a secret from his wife. One of his criteria for being a male escort was that his clientele had to be rich. He wasn't disappointed.

One night Justin was at a big party in Manhattan where scouts from one of the agencies happened to be. They noticed that a lot of women at the party had the hots for him, so they pitched the male escort idea to him. The money was very good. The company had to meet his criteria for working, and things were set. Justin had the power to approve or reject each woman after studying her background. His fee was $1,000 per hour, and most of his "dates" were an hour long.

His first "date" was with a lovely woman at a fancy French restaurant. He was a little nervous because she was very horny and kept touching him under the table with her hands and stockinged feet. At one point she laughed and said a little too loudly, "Are you a virgin?" People's heads turned. She was a little drunk and insisted on ordering for him. She also tried to get him drunk but didn't succeed. He kept his cool throughout his first "date". He overheard someone at another table say, "He must be another one of those gigolos". Her chauffer drove them to a swanky hotel. They didn't have sex because she passed out, which was okay with him.

Once Justin ran into friends while on a "date". They realized what he was doing, and they were going to tell his wife until he paid them off.

The women who hired escorts wanted what men who hire courtesans wanted – romance and attention. Many were unhappy in their sex lives. Some were just happy to have someone to talk to.

Today, Justin would not be a male escort if he could do it again. It's too risky, with the threat of STDs and getting busted by his wife.
