Feminists Make Better Mates
Whoda thunk it? Feminists make better mates. My latest article at nuts4chic goes into more detail about this new study showing how cool it is to hook up with a feminist. I'm surprised the throwback anti-feminist dudes haven't found this study and tried to debase it. To my surprise, the feminist bloggers haven't found this study, either, so I figured I'd let them know about it.
The gist of the study is the following:
Social psychologist Laurie Rudman of Rutgers University found that feminist women were more likely to be in a romantic relationship than other women. Not only that, but a feminist woman's relationship with her man was healthier than average – "better in terms of relationship quality, equality, stability and sexual satisfaction."
Now, head on over to nuts4chic, read my article, and learn in more detail why feminists make better mates.

Personal observation: this actually makes sense. After getting married, I became far more sympathetic to feminism than I was before. Before meeting my wife, I tended to assume that feminism USED TO BE a pro-democracy movement that had been hijacked by identity politics. Later, as a husband, my impression is totally different.
Feminists really are more likely to be good partners because (a) feminism teaches women how to express their relationship issues in ways that men understand; rather than the mystical telepathy that reactionary gender politics assumes men "just know," my wife doesn't expect me to have supernatural powers of mindreading, and a masculine mystique. We're both members of a polity, and while the polity is held together by love, there also needs to be an establishment of rights and obligations, a "commons" in the space of the relationship, and so on. Politics I understand (the civilized, rational politics of feminism); the art of being Stanley Kowalski, I don't.
(b) Another reason why feminism leads to adherents being better lovers (literally): in my life I've noticed a hierarchy of motivated people, and I tend to be high up on that hierarchy. Feminists are near the top. What I mean by this is, some people accept the motivations of others because they're bribed. Or they bribe others to achieve some grand scheme for material enrichment. But at the top, there are people who want abstract things so badly they sacrifice comforts for those things. They aren't likely to be rich, since wealth goes to the mortals who don't care much about stuff extraneous to wealth; and they aren't dependent on others who are rich. Having deeply held motives of their own, therefore, feminists are actuated by genuine commitment, which usually amounts to sincere love. Anti-feminist women I used to hit on (before meeting my wife) were angling for a succession of bribes. They didn't seem like lovers (in the metaphysical sense) so much as strategic allies.
