Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate!!

I just ordered some Droste cocoa online. I also ordered some Swedish vanilla sugar, which was on sale. I'm going to use the cocoa and sugar when I make brownies. I have a recipe that includes broken pieces of Snickers bars in the brownie recipe. At the end of the week, I'm going to order more of that vanilla sugar. I love to use exotic sugars in my coffee. The cocoa is also great as hot chocolate.

I'm going to order the Mexican vanilla over the phone later tonight. Exotic chocolate and vanilla and imported, exotic sugar. Only the best ingredients will go into my desserts.

Hot chocolate and shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate. What a great breakfast treat.

Vanilla sugar -- isn't that a vanilla bean placed in a container of sugar for a certain period of time? Easy to do at home, as long as you have access to vanilla beans and better quality sugar.

I once used a cake recipe that called for Milky Ways in the cake batter. Yummy!

Trish, just remember...no self-respecting man marries a fat chick. My husband told me that if I ever get fat, the law allows him to prevent me from eating. I'm sure that's not true, but he does make all the money so I guess he has a right to do what he wants with what he earns.

...gotta go, baby's crying

Cheers!

I don't think I'll get fat. I have a lot of nervous energy. I've loved rich food for as long as I can remember. I also walk around the beaches too much to gain a lot of weight. We love homecooked food, and we eat well. Life's too short to do otherwise.

Besides, I know some very loving couples where either one is fat or both are. They have too much in common otherwise to not stay married. They're very happy.

Jeez, Trish, where do you live that you'd have to order Droste chocolate online?!

By the way, has anyone here ever eaten a raw cocoa bean? I once lived with a pastry chef who procured some from a sales rep. I'll never forget it!! Even more bitter than coffee beans!!

DP, I live on the Massachusetts coast, next to the ocean, but it's in the boonies. It's still the 1700s here. The worst crime we have is idiot tourists starting fires in their inn rooms by cooking chicken on hot plates. Cops here are bored. LOL

I like roasted coffee beans but I've never had a raw one. I bet raw cocoa beans are TART.
