An Update On The "Women Blogger" Question

Update: Another person pipes in - Chris Nolan, from Politics From Left To Right.

Elayne Riggs at Pen-Elayne also wrote a second post on the subject.

Worth a repeat: The Link Portal on Gender in the Blogosphere, by Culture Cat.

Here's another one: Sisu.

A few other women bloggers have voiced their opinions about that every-90-days "where are the women bloggers" question, this time posed by Kevin Drum. While we can't make the big boys link to us, I agree with Ilyka Damen (link below) that we can link to each other.

Right on.

BTW, thanks for indirectly setting me straight about Random Thoughts.

I don't want Jay Rosen to think I'm impersonating him, stealing his identity to avoid the label "woman blogger". I'm Kathy of Random Thoughts. I quote Jay Rosen in my blog header - never realized that folks might think it meant Jay was the author. But, alas, he's not. So can you correct this post so he doesn't discover with shock that he's really a woman who blogs politics?

Thx.

Thanks for the update, Kathy. I just corrected the post. The quote threw me off.

I also have a more germaine post up than the one that you linked to previously.

I modified the cite to try to prevent future confusion; perhaps I should go back to my John Keyes quote.

Thanks for the quick correction. I had visions of this misinformation spreading across an unknown number of blogs and Jay Rosen (who's got more blogosphere heft than I) finding it and wondering what the heck I was up to. So thanks.

I also updated my post again. Sorry.

Good lord. Don't tell me this crap is floating by again!

My hit count and new links always go way up when a "women bloggers" firestorm starts. This time is no exception.

Well, my new theory about this meme is that it's really meta-trolling. :) So it's good someone other than Kevin's getting hit counts out of it. *grin*
